It presented a 25 year experience from one of the country's largest diabetic clinics, involving the examination of over 12,000 newly diagnosed cases. This new edition retains the format of the original whilst incorporating the advances in understanding and treatment that have occurred since the first edition. The book begins with a discussion of the causes of diabetes, the clinical presentation, and the diagnosis. This is followed by chapters on the long term complications which can cause so much morbidity and mortality. Finally, there is a major section on management. This edition should help physicians to understand both the disease and the problems faced by patients. The book should be of interest to endocrinologists, general physicians, and diabetologists.
